The problem
Snapchat does not ban you when you register. It lets you register, watch you for a week or two, then removes you retroactively in a wave along with everyone sharing your signal profile. That design makes it brutal to test against — by the time you know a method is dead, you have burned a hundred accounts. Snap correlates device attestation, sensor entropy, carrier binding, install provenance, camera-hardware coherence and behavioural cadence, and it weights hardware signals far more heavily than Meta or ByteDance do.
Rolled out 12 July 2026. Reads verified-boot state, keymaster attestation chain and TEE version, then cross-references against a whitelist of genuine handset models. Emulators and containers fail immediately.
Samples the accelerometer and gyroscope for 90 seconds during onboarding and scores the entropy. A perfectly still or perfectly periodic device is treated as synthetic.
Checks that the camera HAL, sensor resolution, lens distortion signature and EXIF metadata all describe the same physical camera the device claims to have.
Compares the SIM operator, the network operator, the IP ASN, the SIM country and the device locale. Any mismatch is a strong negative signal.
Whether the APK arrived from Play with a valid install referrer, sideloaded, or cloned from another install.
Snap scores time-to-first-snap, friend-add velocity, streak behaviour and story-view patterns against cohort norms.
The answer
We do not spoof these checks — we satisfy them. Attestation passes because the boot chain is genuine. Sensor entropy passes because the traces come from a real person walking around Lisbon. Camera coherence passes because there is a real camera HAL behind the injection layer. Carrier binding passes because the SIM, the modem and the IP are the same physical connection. Install provenance passes because we install from Play with a valid referrer. And cadence passes because our warm-up curve was rebuilt in March 2026 from 40,000 surviving accounts.
